That’s very different than what OP claimed. 20 seconds vs 1 second is a big difference. Not to mention being too restrained in regular life can be extremely dangerous too. I have always wanted a 5-point or similar system in cars. Seemed silly not to have them in cars and instead have this strap that you can wriggle into an unsafe position.

It’s not that it’s overkill, it’s that Unicorn I Always Mean What I Say Say It Out Loud Shirt with a 5 point harness you also need to wear a helmet and HANS device, which is absolutely overkill and would arguably increase accidents due to the decreased visibility from wearing a helmet. We could all be safer at the expense of some convenience, and we could all make our lives more convenient at the expense of some safety. I would take a 5 point harness in a second. I prefer not to even drives cars because I don’t think they are safe.
