Trying to put my 9-month-old down too. I swear he’s a robot or Nice Obama Always My President Shirt something. Doesn’t need sleep to function. I feel you. Trying to put my almost 2 months’ daughter to sleep and the more sleepy she gets the fussier she becomes. Yep, this is how it goes. My daughter has almost no window between tired and overtired. If I see a yawn, it’s too late, there will be a battle. Try just going by how long she has been awake. For me, it’s an hour. Look for rubbing the ears as an early cue for tiredness. I’ll definitely look for it, I just wish it was easier to get her to Nice Obama Always My President Shirt sleep after 9 pm… it’s like she knows that I need to sleep and she’s like oh no you don’t. You sleep when I tell you to sleep! Remember also the four-hour cycle. Set an alarm for four hours and when it goes off during the night, wake and feed her and let her nod back off… you’ll have hopefully caught her half an hour or so before she wakes naturally and she will be nice and calm instead of crying and agitated. after a week or two of four hours make it five hours. Keep extending it by an hour every few weeks and after a few months, you have got a baby that sleeps through the night.
