And each and every time a cop shows up first, they get in the way of those who are actually there trying to help. Some times with lethal consequences. I never understood police going to wellness checks. Wouldnt EMTs be better trained and properly equipped to handle any situation that could arise during a wellness check? At least here in Tennessee, EMTs( ambulance dudes) are only trained to get you to the hospital.

Firefighters and Police are required to be trained medics and at least one agency has to Horror Michael Myers On Wednesdays We Wear Pink Shirt respond alongside the ambulance to.the call. Agreed! I don’t want police to be the responders to wellness calls, for example. My position in education has required me to make such calls. Gonna spark some debate with this I am sure but I disagree full-heartedly, Do you know who makes these calls when the police are busy? The medics. The firefighters, usually. Now I won’t speak for others, but in my jurisdiction, we get approx 17-20 calls a shift. So an average of 18-21 hours not busy. Removing the police from these calls would simply add to our numbers.
