All kidding aside, it’s shocking watching this from overseas. How are people even Funny Get In Good Trouble T-Shirt comfortable calling the police? Calling them might have a higher fatality rate than whatever crime they’re dealing with. A lot of people, especially minorities, would never call the police unless they HAD to. Many people aren’t comfortable calling the police tbh. Calling the police exists for one reason, and one reason only to me now. If they stand between me an insurance company. And even then, probably not, unless my entire car disappears or something. Off the top of my head; hit and run, total theft and injury are the only ones in the standard contract.

There are so many things we use the police for that don’t involve tactical gear or guns. Law enforcement needs to scale back their use of violent (not to mention outright militaristic) responses to situations that simply don’t require it.
